Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: STEREO A
Event Time: 2024-09-04T13:17Z ( STEREO A: IMPACT )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: IMPACT
STEREO A: PLASTIC
Activity ID: 2024-09-04T13:17:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Mainly characterized by an increase in magnetic field components from approx. 8nT to 15nT. A clear increase in speed was not discernible in PLASTIC data. May be followed by/influenced by a weak corotating interaction region/high speed stream signature; magnetic field strength signature appears to dampen faster at L1 than that of STEREO Ahead, possibly indicating the signature is associated with a CME seen to the west relative to the Earth-Sun line. The field is generally dominated by the y-component at L1 and more so by the x-component and z-component at STEREO Ahead.
